Author Talk with Richard Brotbeck

WEBSTER – “Sea Stories” author talk with Richard Brotbeck will take place on Saturday, November 11th from 1PM TO 3PM at Booklovers’ Gourmet, 55 East Main Street, Webster, MA. Free and open to the public. Books available for purchase.
Sea Stories is Richard Brotbeck’s third book, a memoir of his time in the U.S. Navy, from 1976 to 1982, a time that he says, was when we were the only people in the country with short hair. Come meet Richard on Veteran’s Day for an honest, slightly irreverent discussion of his life experiences during this time.

Richard Brotbeck was a Military Brat, his father a pilot in the U.S. Air Force. His family lived in England, the U.S., and on Guam, where he attended Jr. High and High School, at the height of the Vietnam War. He later served in the U.S. Navy as a submarine sonar technician and operations specialist.

He began publishing in 1983 with his cartoon series, Ruff Times. His political satire and editorial commentary have appeared in many national and regional publications, including the Kansas City Star and Jam Magazine.
