2018 Woodstock Shop Hop Weekend!
Every year in September, in the quiet little town of Woodstock, members of the Woodstock Business Association sponsor an annual weekend long event called “Shop Hop”.
Shop Hop was originally started 28 years ago in 1990 by the owners of The Christmas Barn, Kris and Joe Reynolds. Sadly, Kris passed away on January 3rd, 2015 and Joe passed away July 24th, 2018. The different shops and merchants in Woodstock have decided to keep the annual tradition alive in their memory. Shop Hop always takes place the first weekend of Fall and all the shops are ready for Fall festivities. This year the Shop Hop will be on Saturday, September 22nd and Sunday, September 23rd. Nine shops will be partaking in the Shop Hop. See the ad below for a list of participating merchants.
September is a beautiful time of year in Woodstock, Connecticut. As the second largest town in acreage in Connecticut with more than 62 square miles of land there is so much to do and see in Woodstock… visit different orchards, the winery and vineyard, local farm stands, gardens, restaurants, historic sites like the Roseland Cottage or “Pink House” (which was home to a silk industry tycoon, Henry C. Bowen) and gift shops while you explore the rural town and pastoral settings.
Each merchant does their own special; it could be a shop item give away, a drawing/raffle or a sale. You just might be able to win some great prizes or discover neat items and discounts. Each shop has refreshments for the customers to enjoy while they are browsing in search of their treasure. The Woodstock area is always busy during Shop Hop weekend with customers going from one shop to another. Shops can expect one hundred plus people per day!
The merchants of Woodstock invite you to sample the beauty and charm of Woodstock during Shop Hop! WE KNOW YOU’LL COME BACK!
