DCLT Fundraiser to Expand Wieloch Woods
Through a generous donation from the Wieloch family, The Dudley Conservation Land Trust(DCLT) is pleased to have acquired a 77 acre parcel of walking paths, streams, wetlands, forest, stone walls, historic railway and native wildlife habitat right along Rt. 197! Within the Wieloch Woods, another 10 acres has recently been offered to the DCLT. With the purchase of this additional parcel, Wieloch Woods, an iconic Dudley landscape, will expand to 87 acres of a green wildlife corridor and a vital habitat for a diversity of plants and animals. The DCLT, a private, non-profit organization has worked hard at living their mission: “to provide for and promote conservation, acquisition and protection of land and open space for education, passive recreation, wildlife habitat and the preservation of the rural, natural and scenic character of Dudley and area communities for current and future generations”. The acquisition and permanent protection of this additional parcel is a rare chance for the residents of Dudley and surrounding communities to preserve more of the natural and scenic character of our countryside. It will not only provide protection for wildlife, but also a quiet place for all to walk, meditate, observe nature, breathe clean air and enjoy the beauty of the changing seasons.
To express your support for this project, please consider making a donation today! Time is of the essence as $15,000 must be raised by February 2016! Seldom do we have such a tangible mechanism to “think globally but act locally” and “to leave a legacy”! Donations made payable to “DCLT” are fully tax-deductible, and can be sent to DCLT, PO Box 14, Dudley MA 01571. Thank you in advance for your consideration!
