June 1 through 7 marks National CPR Awareness Week. Harrington nurse and health educator Jon Gorman will teach Hands-Only CPR to the local community and stress the importance of learning this life-saving skill. To also recognize the week, Harrington recently purchased two automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for St. Anne’s Parish in Fiskdale.

St. Anne’s approached Harrington a few months ago to request the devices be available in the event of an emergency. Jon has also worked with St. Anne’s staff to help them become CPR-certified, including the use of AEDs.

Raffles and donations were gathered from parishioners and the public, in addition to money raised from Harrington’s annual Van Vooren’s Golf Tournament. The AEDs were purchased and installed in St. Anne’s Gift Shop and The Parish Center.
