The WEbster Arts/Recreation Committee is off to a great start with Webster Wednesdays at French River Park, on Davis Street behind the Post Office and adjacent to Kretschman Brewery and Beer Garden. Last week we opened our 5th Annual Summer Concert Series with the introduction of our new vendor market! Shop area artists/crafters/doers/makers as well as locally sourced agriculture with fresh fruits and vegetables every WEdnesday throughout July and August, from 5pm to 8pm. We are always adding to, and making updates on, our Facebook Event Page- The Webster Arts/Recreation Committee presents: WEbster WEdnesdays. Check back often to see the latest!

This week we will have Rhode Island artist, and BHS Art teacher, Sean Harrington’s sculpture installation arriving at French River Park! Even if you aren’t able to make it for WEbster WEdnesdays, stop by and check it out anytime. Thank you, Sean!!

Last week was a fantastic opening with the hometown favorite, Pulaski Brass Band. Thank you to Jim Morrison and the rest of the group for an evening of music…and of course Jim’s ever anticipated wry sense of humor.

Next WEbster WEdnesday, July 12th, we have Grey Whisker Pickers. This local trio has been with us for several seasons now and we are super excited to have them back again this year! A blend of outright honky tonk..with a dash of folk…and some good ol’ rock n’ roll attitude….born from the rich American tradition of making music around kitchen tables and front porches, Grey Whisker Pickers are about friends and family getting together to make music and have fun…sharing good times.

This week also brings something new! The Eve Tribal Belly Dance Company has been an active tribal fusion belly dance troupe in Central Massachusetts known for their innovation and complex, multi-layered movements since August, 2006. They are an exciting, awesome anthology of supportive women of all shapes, sizes and ages, and are thrilled to introduce you to their community and art!!

Their performance will begin at 6pm, followed by our student musicians at 7pm with Grey Whisker Pickers at 7:10pm.

Our vendors were very pleased with the turnout and July 12th brings back some of the same from last week as well as several new ones. The vendors thus far include:
Bath Bombs and More, all natural, handcrafted products including bug spray and lip balm.
A Journey Within Every Step, with beautiful photographs, notecards and necklaces.
Author/Artist Sky Blovin

Michele’s Munchies has the best cheesecake ever! And even better, a portion of her sales go back to the Webster Arts/Recreation Committee…so please, eat up!
While we’re speaking of eating…the Webster Arts/Recreation Committee will have pizza from Webster House of Pizza available for purchase as well as water/soda/chips.

We have local Dig-Outz artist Tony Freitas doing something awesome for us! With every purchase of Tony’s artwork, the Webster Arts/Recreation Committee-and our community-benefit. He will graciously be donating a portion of his sales throughout July and August to the Committee to help further our mission to create opportunities and events for our community. Please check him out next WEbster WEdnesday and consider purchasing some of his work! You can find him on our Facebook Event Page, The Webster Arts/Recreation Committee presents: WEbster WEdnesdays; our FB, Webster Arts/Recreation Group; and his own FB page, Dig-Outz.
