Pink Hippy & Breast Cancer Awareness
PinkHippy.org kicked off a month long series of local events for Breast Cancer Awareness Month during the Holy Cross vs. Bucknell men’s soccer game on October 1st at Linda Johnson Smith Stadium. Holy Cross raised funds to benefit the V for Victory Foundation and PinkHippy.org as part of their Cancer Awareness Day. Breast cancer survivors, who were in attendance despite the damp and rainy weather, were honored on the field during half time. Holy Cross’s Luke Melody presented Del Bachand of PinkHippy.org with post-operative Drain Care Pouches on behalf of the V for Victory Foundation to be distributed to area mastectomy patients.
PinkHippy.org will be sponsoring several upcoming events throughout the Worcester County area. There will be a Sound Healing Concert on Sunday October 16th at 1:00 pm at the Best Western in Marlboro. Everyone is welcome to attend, tickets are $30 with a limited number of free tickets available for cancer patients. On Wednesday evening October 26th Saint Vincent Cancer and Wellness Center will host PinkHippy.org’s annual Expressive Arts Celebration for breast cancer patients and survivors. This year’s theme is ‘Together’ celebrating the connections made during the cancer journey , there is no charge for this event. On Sunday October 30th join Jeannie Light for a Walking Meditation for cancer patients, survivors and their families at Hodges Village Dam in Oxford. The trail is a gentle easy walk suitable for everyone. PinkHippy.org will close out the month-long series with a Wine Glass Paint Party on Saturday afternoon October 12th at the Charlton Arts and Activities Center. Pinkhippy.org is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity that provides complimentary oncology massage, restorative yoga, meditation, reiki, music & art therapy, and comfort accessories to breast cancer patients throughout southcentral MA, northeastern CT and northwestern RI. Integrative services and support are also available to breast cancer survivors and their families/caregivers.
