Rededication of General Ebenezer Learned’s Grave

dar-jr-rotc-henry-knox-togetherThe General Ebenezer Learned Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Oxford Chapter honored their chapter patriot with a Veteran’s Day graveside rededication on Saturday, November 12th at the South Cemetery in Oxford. The DAR was joined by the Captain Job Knapp DAR chapter of Douglas, Oxford High School Jr. Reserve Officer Training Corps Color Guard, and Colonel Henry Knox Regimental Color Guard in celebrating the accomplishment of General Ebenezer Learned. Others in the audience included members of the Oxford Historical Commission and the Huguenot Memorial Society as well as neighborhood residents. A wreath was placed by Regent Helen Poirier at the Learned Family grave. Biographical readings about General Learned were done by chapter members Cathleen Nikosey, Vice Regent, Beverley Beaudette, Secretary, and Susan Dineen, with Adeline Healy of the Job Knapp Chapter as acting Chaplin for the day.
