Scrabble Scrimmage and Silent Auction Gala

scrabbleJoin the Literacy Volunteers of Greater Worcester on Sunday, March 29th for a Scrabble Scrimmage and Silent Auction, helping to raise funds for the establishment of their portable language laboratory. The event will be held from 5pm-8pm at Congregation Beth Israel, 15 Jamesbury Drive Worcester, MA 01609.

Literacy Volunteers of Greater Worcester was established in 1973 as a one-to-one reading tutoring service in Worcester. Today we have over 170 volunteers and 10 faculty members who give of their time to help immigrants, refugees and adult basic literacy students read, write, and speak English.

The main event will be a Team Scrabble Tournament. A silent auction will be held with many great prizes. In addition to being able to bid on the silent auction that night, bidding will also be available online two weeks prior to the live event. This is a great way to engage friends and family, near and far to be involved in the fundraiser.
