South County Pop Warner is Seeking Sponsorships and Donations!
To Whom It May Concern:
South County Pop Warner is a non-profit youth football and cheerleading organization for children ranging ages 5 to 15 years old. Located in Webster, Massachusetts, South County Pop Warner has provided the community (and surrounding communities of Douglas, Northbridge, Millbury, Dudley, Oxford, and Thompson, CT) with fun, athletic learning opportunities for children, while emphasizing the importance of academic success. It has enabled young children to benefit from participation in team sports and activities in a safe and structured environment. South County Pop Warner seeks to familiarize players and spirit participants with the fundamentals of football, cheerleading and dance, while inspiring youth, regardless of race, creed or national origin, to practice the ideals of sportsmanship, scholarship and physical fitness as reflected in the life of the late Glenn Scobie “Pop” Warner. This has been the mission of South County Pop Warner program for the last 35 years: to teach fundamental values, skills, and knowledge that young people will use throughout their lives.
Every coach and board member in this organization are volunteers who have dedicated countless hours of their time to promote the mission of South County Pop Warner through various events that take place throughout the season, including fundraisers, football games, and cheerleading competitions. Each season, the cheerleaders specifically have an opportunity to compete at local, state, and national levels as a way of showcasing the skills they have learned throughout the season. This season, we have had the opportunity to start a “Challenger” cheerleading team! This is a team created for children with special needs. The purpose of this team is to provide children with s pecial needs, between the ages of 5 and 18, with an opportunity to not only participate in a sport, but to learn skills they can take with them beyond this program to utilize in their everyday lives. In addition to the demands that come with participating in a competitive sport, they learn social skills, the concept of teamwork, and gain friendships that will last a lifetime. Our “Challenger” cheerleaders have been working so hard these past couple of months and have come a long way in a short amount of time. And now they have the opportunity of a lifetime! We have been asked to represent Central Massachusetts and perform at the Pop Warner national competition in Orlando, Florida! We are so proud of our “Indian cheerleaders” and we are so honored to have been selected to represent our organization and state at a national level. This trip represents something much bigger than just our team and organization; we represent the idea that children with special needs are not limited by their disabilities, but can do anything that they set their minds to. Being different than those around you makes you unique, and awesome.
With that being said, we are asking for your help. Because we are a non-profit organization, in order to make this dream come true, we must raise $10,000. The money that is raised will go directly to our girls and boys to cover the cost of a hotel for three days, as well as flight expenses to and from Orlando, Florida. Any sponsorships or donations that could be provided to make this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and dream come true for these young cheerleaders would be so greatly appreciated.
