The Countdown has begun! Only 2 weeks left for Festival 44!
It may not feel like it, but summer really is right around the corner…and that means… POLISH FESTIVAL TIME!
The countdown has begun for the 44th Annual St. Joseph Polish Festival, to be held the weekend of June 16-18, 2017, on the St. Joseph School Grounds, Whitcomb Street in Webster. Festival hours will be Friday, June 16th from 5pm to 11pm; Saturday, June 17th from Noon to 11 pm; and Sunday, June 18th from Noon to 4pm. Raffles will be drawn after 4 pm on Sunday.
The Steering committee is hard at work planning this year’s activities for everyone’s enjoyment. This year’s General Chairman is Richard Skrocki with Michael Hackenson as co-chairman.
Along with fresh, home-made food all weekend long, there will be games of chance, Special Gifts Raffle, Money Raffle, Pastry Booth, Dice Wheel, Spirits Shoppe, Seven Over & Under, Poker, Kids games , Kiddie Land, Face painting, Bounce House, Snack Shack, Dunk Tank, Garage Sale, Polish Booth, Potato Pancakes (Placki), Wheelbarrow of Cheer and the 50/50 Raffles. The kitchen will feature polish favorites like Pierogi, Golabki, Kapusta, Kielbasa and more! New this year is a Waffle Booth, a Slime Booth, and will feature a Cornhole Tournament on Sunday, starting at noon. Tournament will require Advanced registration at 508-943-0378. The Maestro’s Men polka band will perform on Friday and Saturday nights.
The big Money Raffle features $5,250 in prizes. First prize is $3,000; Second prize is $1,500; and Third prize is $750. Donation is $5 per ticket or a book of three for $10.
Friday – June 16th – Featuring Seafood specials of Clam Chowder and Fish & Chips, Polish and American foods, dancing to the beat of Maestro’s Men – 6 pm to 10 pm.
Saturday – June 17th – PIAST – Polish-American Folk Group will perform at 3pm. The annual festival Mass will be held at 4 pm in St. Joseph Basilica. Then Maestro’s Men will again take the stage from 6 pm to 10 pm for your dancing pleasure.
Sunday – June 18th – Cornhole Tournament at 12 Noon. Chicken Barbeque Dinner (1/2 chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, roll and butter) at 12 Noon – 1:30pm. Tickets are $10 and must be purchased in advance at 508-943-0467. The St. Joseph School Talent Show will start at 2pm and the drawing of all raffles will start around 4pm.
Mark your calendars for the weekend of June 16-18, 2017 — it promises to be a fun-filled event you will not want to miss. The festival is the major fundraiser for St. Joseph School in Webster.
