Treasures & Trade – Woodstock, CT
Treasures and Trade in Woodstock, CT was opened in 2010 by Judith and Bill Lyon to create a family business out of great found and upcycled items. The treasures you find at Treasures and Trade keep items out of the landfills by finding a new home for useable and upcycled items. Inside this unique shop, you will find antiques, collectibles, upscale items, primitives, and even newly crafted home décor items. The shop has two levels and a lot of room with vendors bringing in a variety of cool items.
Treasures and Trade also features the newly made handiwork of TruNorth Creations, which is a local veteran-owned company. TruNorth makes practical and decorative pieces out of wood and metal with a rustic but modern design sensibility. Items from TruNorth include tables with a unique wood herringbone patterns, wine racks, shelving, and candleholders. The shop also works with movie and television production companies for props, and occasionally has items from these companies. At press time, the shop has two chairs that were used in the movie “Bride Wars.” The shop also has collections of items from two very popular Pfaltzgraff patterns of kitchenware.
Currently, there is some road construction just south of Treasures and Trade’s property to fix a bridge. During this time, please note that the shop is still open for its normal hours – 10 to 5 every day except Tuesday. Traffic might be redirected north of the shop on Route 169, but visitors to the shop can continue on to visit the location, just next door to Northwoods Childcare Center. Call for an alternate route at (860) 315-7150 if you have any questions or want more specifics about how to get to the shop – it is worth the trip to check out.
