WDBA Annual Meeting Recap
This past Wednesday, The Webster Dudley Business Alliance held their annual meeting at Point Breeze Restaurant in Webster, MA. This group of like minded individuals, works together to build the business community here in our local area, and put on local events which include the annual tree lighting ceremony, chili cook-off, Earth Day cleanup, Summer Fest and more. President Deborah Horan, owner of Booklover’s Gourmet in Webster, thanked the board and all members for their hard work throughout the year and was excited about new opportunities to grow the organization moving forward. Deb Rousseau of Rousseau Insurance gave the treasurers report and then elections were held for new board positions. The board remains the same as 2014-15, with the addition of two more directors, Halina Jachimczyk of Webster First Federal Credit Union, and Stephen Fleck of Smart Shopper.
Attendees then turned their attention to the evenings guest speaker Mitzi Weinman, of TimeFinder. Mitzi’s presentation, “Escaping Your Time Traps: TimeFinder’s Productivity Tool Box!” discussed ways for an individual to increase their productivity, both at work, and in their home life. Mitzi reminded everyone that time is not something we can “manage.” We cannot speed it up or slow it down, it just keeps going, whether we want it to or not. What we can manage is ourselves, and the approach that we take to getting tasks done on any given day, and the plans we make to prepare for the things we cannot control.
